💡 Pro tip
While waiting to turn left, keep your front wheels pointed straight ahead so a rear-end hit can't shove you into oncoming traffic, and remember you must still yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk you're turning into even after oncoming cars clear.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Turning across traffic without a large enough gap.
- Forgetting that pedestrians in the crosswalk have the right of way.
- Turning your wheels early while waiting — a rear hit would push you into oncoming traffic.
