Hill Parking — Wheels & Why

Point the front wheels so a rolling car hits the curb, not traffic — downhill, uphill, no curb, flat.

How to use this sim

Watch the app drive the maneuver the correct way — with the right order and timing. Follow the narration and the checklist as each step is done for you. Hit Restart to watch it again anytime.

💡 Pro tip

Think 'where would it roll?' — then aim the front tires so the curb (or the road edge) catches the car. Downhill: toward the curb. Uphill with a curb: away from it, and roll back until the tire rests on it. No curb: toward the edge. Every time: parking brake, firmly.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Turning the wheels the same way for uphill and downhill — the rules are opposites for a reason.
  • Skipping the parking brake because the street 'looks flat.' Set it every single time.
  • Uphill with a curb: turning the wheels but never letting the tire settle back against the curb — the gap lets the car build rolling speed.
